The Companion
Seat™—the perfect companion. If you or a family member have
difficulty entering and exiting your domestic minivan, the Braun
Companion Seat is your key to greater mobility. Its automatic
operation and rugged construction enable the semi-ambulatory to
reliably and conveniently board the front passenger seat of
Chrysler, Ford and GM minivans.
The
Companion Seat™—mobility at your fingertips. The Companion Seat
system utilizes your van's original seat, but replaces the
existing base with a unique power base that extends the seat out
the door a full twenty inches. Near the end of the cycle, the seat
tilts forward six inches to make boarding safe and easy. One
switch controls both the "in" and "out" functions, conveniently
located for the seat occupant. When not needed as a mobility aid,
the Companion Seat performs like a normal passenger seat–making it
perfect for active families with only one member needing
assistance.
The Companion Seat™—safety first. Safety has always been a top
priority at Braun. That's why the Companion Seat has been
thoroughly tested to meet all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standards. Furthermore, stringent quality-control checks
during the assembly process ensures the Companion Seat will be
there when you need it. And, should your vehicle lose power, a
manual backup system extends and retracts the chair when
necessary.
The
Companion Seat™—Braun–built. You can count on the test–proven
durability of the Companion Seat, backed by nearly 30 years of
experience in the mobility industry. Braun's attention to detail
and quality craftsmanship is further supported by our world-wide
dealer network and our Three-Year-Worry-Free Warranty – the best
the industry has to offer.

To extend the Companion Seat out the door, the operator first
lifts the release lever, enabling the chair to manually swivel
ninety degrees to face out the door. The operator then
activates the single switch to the "out" position, holding the
switch until the seat is extended fully. To retract the seat,
the operator activates and holds the switch to the "in"
position until the cycle is complete. The release lever is
then lifted so that the chair may be manually rotated to the
forward-facing position. |
