The Chair Topper®—an innovative solution. The Braun Chair Topper is designed to assist wheelchair users who are able to transfer. It automatically folds and stores a conventional folding wheelchair inside an attractive, watertight fiberglass cover that mounts on top of your vehicle, eliminating the need to store your chair behind the front seats. This means your family and friends can come along for the ride, and everyone can enjoy the comfort of your vehicle.

The Chair Topper®—simplicity of operation. The Chair Topper's universal mounting system ensures that it will fit most automobiles and light trucks. It adds only 22" in height, and may be painted to match your vehicle for a finished, automotive look. A single rocker switch located in a user-friendly hand-held control box operates the folding, lifting and storing of your wheelchair. It takes only 30 seconds to complete the cycle, and the smooth operation ensures your chair is carefully handled and transported without damage or undo wear and tear.

The Chair Topper®—thoughtful features. For complete independence, the Chair Topper is available in a driver-side model. A passenger-side version is available for those who will have a companion. Whichever model you choose, you can count on the Chair Topper being there for you, no matter where your travels take you. Due to its horizontal operation, the Chair Topper can be safely used in home and parking garages, with a minimum amount of space required beside the vehicle–a great feature for tight parking situations. Also featured is a manual backup system for use in the event of vehicle power failure. This system is accessed through a locking door in the fiberglass shell, allowing an assistant to easily lower the chair manually when necessary.

SYSTEM OPERATION
The chair occupant first transfers to the driver or passenger seat. The "down" button is activated on the hand-held control to extend the fiberglass shell and lower the lifting mechanism. When the wheelchair hook is at the proper height, the operator releases the "down" button and positions the hook under the wheelchair seat. The "up" button is then activated, and the chair is folded as the hook raises. Once off the ground, the operator steadies the chair to eliminate swing, and continues pressing the "up" button until the fiberglass shell is completely closed.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The Chair Topper utilizes a 12 volt DC reversible automotive type motor, powered by the vehicle battery. The steel frame is encased in a fiberglass shell, which is completely sealed from the elements. The unit weighs 228 lbs.

MOUNTING
The Chair Topper is shipped with two mounting systems: a clamp-on "roof rack" system and a more permanent mounting system. Your dealer will be able to determine which system will work best for your particular vehicle. Note that special considerations may be required for vehicles with luggage racks, sun roofs, hatchbacks, etc.
