SYSTEM
OPERATION
The operator opens the vehicle's doors and activates the
toggle switch to the unfold position. The platform unfolds
automatically and stops. The operator releases and
reactivates the same switch which enables the unfold
function until the platform is horizontal. The bridge plate
will deploy when the platform reaches the horizontal
position. The operator once again releases and reactivates
the toggle switch enabling the down function. The lift will
automatically stop at ground level and deploy the outboard
roll stop. After boarding, the operator activates the toggle
switch in the stow direction. The outboard roll stop raises
up and the platform slightly levels. Then the platform
rises, elevating the wheelchair passenger from the ground up
to the floor of the van. The lift stops automatically at
floor level and deploys the bridge plate. After the
user/passenger has exited the platform, the switch can be
activated again to fold and stow the platform.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The lift is powered by a 12 volt electric motor. A
gear-driven ball screw assembly drives the lifting mechanism
to raise or lower the platform. The platform is made of
strong formed steel construction, with a non slip metal
surface. It features a powered bridge plate and outboard
roll stop which act as loading and unloading ramps when
deployed.
LIFT CONTROLS
The lift is controlled by a standard handheld pendant
control with one switch controlling the operation of the
lift. Optional controls include: a handrail switch
controlling the up/down function, dash-mounted toggle switch
controls, a dash-mounted touch-pad control, taillight
magnetic switches, rear exterior control with key lock, and
remote control system.
DOOR OPERATORS
Optional automatic door operator kits are available for
swing and slide door Chevy, Ford and Dodge vans. |
